Weslaco High School Mourns the Loss of Beloved Student Leader Larissa Rodriguez
It is with profound sadness that Weslaco High School and the Rodriguez family announce the passing of Larissa Rodriguez, a cherished member of the school community. Larissa, who served as Weslaco High School’s Cheer Co-Captain, Student Council President, and National Honor Society Parliamentarian, was more than just a student—she was a shining beacon of leadership, kindness, and Panther pride.
Larissa’s involvement in the school and wider community was nothing short of remarkable. Beyond her prominent leadership roles, she was an active participant in Business Professionals of America (BPA), Future Farmers of America (FFA), and served as the tennis manager. She also represented Weslaco in the Hidalgo County Cotillion and was honored as Miss Texas Onion Fest 2024, a testament to her charisma and dedication beyond the classroom.
Known for her radiant smile and boundless energy, Larissa’s influence stretched far and wide. Whether rallying the crowd on the sidelines as Cheer Co-Captain or organizing impactful school events, she led with a rare combination of passion, kindness, and unwavering commitment. Her genuine care for others made every individual around her feel seen, valued, and motivated to be their best.
