UVALDE, Texas (September 18, 2025) — The Uvalde Police Department has confirmed the arrest of a 17-year-old male suspect in connection with a drive-by shooting that left a juvenile male seriously injured Wednesday evening in a residential neighborhood. The arrest follows a highly coordinated, multi-agency investigation and tactical operation that concluded less than 24 hours after the violent incident occurred.
Shooting on South High Street
The incident unfolded on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, around 6:30 p.m., when Uvalde Police officers were dispatched to the 800 block of South High Street following multiple reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a shooting and were informed that a juvenile male had been struck by gunfire while riding a scooter along the roadway. The victim had already been transported from the scene by relatives. He was later transferred to a San Antonio hospital for further treatment, where his condition was described as serious but stable.
