UPDATE: Three Confirmed Dead in Anderson Shooting — Victim Identified as Calvin Chester Jr.
ANDERSON, S.C. — A quiet Saturday night in Anderson turned tragic as a deadly shooting erupted near West Franklin Street and Murray Avenue, leaving three people dead and sending shockwaves through the tight-knit community. Authorities have now confirmed that Calvin Chester Jr. is among those killed in the incident.
The Anderson Police Department and the Anderson County Coroner’s Office responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire shortly before midnight on Saturday. Officers arrived to find a chaotic and disturbing scene with multiple gunshot victims.
In a statement released early Sunday morning, Anderson Police Chief Jim Stewart described the crime scene as “one of the most devastating in recent memory.”
