Body Discovered During Aerial Search in Schertz; Identified as Zacharias Stallings
SCHERTZ, Texas (October 23, 2025) — The Schertz Police Department has confirmed that a body discovered Thursday afternoon near Schwab Road and Interstate 35 southbound has been identified as Zacharias Stallings.
According to authorities, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers were conducting an aerial search of the area using a drone as part of an ongoing investigation. During the search, drone operators observed what appeared to be a body in a field located in the northwest corner of Schwab Road and IH-35.
Responding officers and emergency personnel arrived at the scene shortly after the discovery and confirmed that the individual was deceased. The area was secured as investigators began processing the scene.
The Schertz Police Department issued a statement late Thursday expressing condolences to the family and friends of the victim.
“Unfortunately, the search has ended in tragedy as Zacharias Stallings was found deceased,” the statement read. “Next of kin have been notified, and we want to extend our deepest thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Zacharias Stallings during this difficult and heartbreaking time.”
Police have not released additional details surrounding the circumstances of Stallings’ death, and the cause remains under investigation. The department emphasized that this is an active and ongoing investigation, with no further information available at this time.
