Tragic Crash at Portillo’s in Oswego Claims Life of 2-Year-Old, Injures 14 Others
A devastating incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, July 30, 2025, when a vehicle crashed into the Portillo’s restaurant located at 2810 U.S. Route 34 in Oswego, Illinois. The crash resulted in the tragic death of a 2-year-old child and left 14 other individuals injured.
According to the Oswego Police Department, the crash took place at approximately 1:55 p.m. The vehicle, driven by a 50-year-old woman, was the sole occupant. She was transported to a nearby hospital, and her condition has not been publicly disclosed. Eight victims, including the driver, were taken to area hospitals, with at least one person reported to be in critical condition. Six others were treated at the scene and released.
