PRINCE ALBERT, Saskatchewan — Community Mourns the Heartbreaking Loss of Ruthless Paradise Following Fatal Pedestrian Collision
October 11, 2025 — Prince Albert, SK
The city of Prince Albert is reeling with sorrow today as news spreads of the tragic death of Ruthless Paradise, a cherished member of the community, who lost their life in a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 11, 2025.
According to a statement released by the Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS), emergency crews responded to reports of a serious collision at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the area of 6th Avenue East and 15th Street, a well-traveled intersection just south of the downtown core. Upon arrival, first responders located a pedestrian — later identified as Ruthless Paradise — with critical injuries sustained in the collision. Despite the rapid response and life-saving efforts at the scene, Paradise was pronounced deceased shortly after being transported to Victoria Hospital.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained on the scene and is cooperating with authorities. PAPS confirmed that no charges have been laid at this time, and the investigation remains active and ongoing. Alcohol and speed have not yet been ruled out, pending further forensic analysis and toxicology results.
A Devastating Loss
The sudden death of Ruthless Paradise has sent shockwaves through Prince Albert and beyond. Friends, family, and community leaders have described Paradise as a unique, creative, and deeply compassionate individual whose presence lit up every room. Known for their resilience, artistic flair, and outspoken advocacy for marginalized voices, Paradise leaves behind a legacy that those who knew them say will never be forgotten.
“Ruthless was more than just a name — it was a spirit,” said Jordan McLeod, a friend and fellow community member. “They were fearless in standing up for what was right, for who they were, and for the people they loved. Their loss has created a void that words can’t fill.”
Paradise, who was in their late 20s, was actively involved in local youth programs, Indigenous advocacy work, and the arts community. A proud member of their cultural heritage and a mentor to many, they worked tirelessly to support at-risk youth, frequently volunteering with community organizations focused on healing, inclusion, and empowerment.
They were also a performer, writer, and visual artist, whose works often reflected themes of identity, trauma, and transformation.
“Ruthless gave voice to the voiceless,” said Marcie Daniels, director of a local cultural centre. “Their art, their activism, and their sheer presence inspired so many people to embrace who they are and speak their truth. They were a warrior in every sense of the word.”
An Outpouring of Grief and Support
In the hours following confirmation of Paradise’s death, social media was flooded with tributes, memories, and messages of love. The hashtag #RememberRuthless began trending locally, as artists, youth leaders, and friends posted photos, poems, and personal stories in remembrance.
A makeshift memorial has begun to take shape near the scene of the collision, where community members have placed candles, flowers, artwork, and messages of love. Several vigils and gatherings are already being planned to honour Paradise’s life and legacy.
One such vigil will be held on Sunday, October 12, at Kinsmen Park, beginning at 6:00 p.m., where family, friends, and supporters will come together for a candlelight ceremony and moment of reflection.
Investigation Ongoing
The Prince Albert Police Service has appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam or surveillance footage from the area around the time of the collision to come forward. They are also asking for sensitivity and respect as the family and community grieve this profound loss.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ruthless Paradise,” said Inspector Carla James of the PAPS Traffic Division. “Our officers are committed to conducting a thorough investigation and ensuring that all aspects of this tragic incident are fully examined.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Prince Albert Police non-emergency line at 306-953-4222 or leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Honouring a Life That Mattered
As Prince Albert grapples with the loss of one of its brightest and boldest voices, local organizations have pledged to continue the work that Ruthless Paradise championed in life.
“There are few people who give as much of themselves to their community as Ruthless did,” said Valerie Sutherland, youth counselor and close friend. “They turned their pain into purpose and created space for healing — for themselves and for others. That kind of light never really dies.”
Plans are already underway to establish the Ruthless Paradise Memorial Fund, which will support youth empowerment initiatives and provide grants for emerging Indigenous artists and advocates. The fund will be launched in partnership with local non-profits and will serve as a long-lasting tribute to Paradise’s life, values, and mission.

The family of Ruthless Paradise is in the process of arranging a celebration of life ceremony, which will be open to the public. Details will be shared in the coming days.
