INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 23, 2025) — The Indianapolis community is coming together to mourn the loss of Zachary “Zachee” Joseph Lillard, whose passing has left a deep void in the hearts of family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know them. Known for their kindness, humor, and compassionate spirit, Zachary touched many lives, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will continue to inspire those who knew them best.

Zachary’s friends and loved ones describe them as a person who radiated positivity — someone who could light up a room with their presence, bring laughter to those around them, and offer comfort when it was needed most. Whether through simple acts of kindness or thoughtful conversations, Zachary had a remarkable way of connecting with people and making them feel truly seen and valued.

To honor Zachary’s life, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Norman F. Chance Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Indianapolis on November 5, 2025. Family, friends, and community members are invited to gather in remembrance — to share stories, offer comfort, and celebrate the joy and love Zachary brought into the world.

The family has expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support they have received in the days following Zachary’s passing. In lieu of other gestures, they are welcoming donations to help with funeral expenses and inviting anyone who wishes to send flowers or plant a tree in Zachary’s memory to do so through the funeral home’s floral or sympathy store. Each act of remembrance serves as a meaningful way to continue the legacy of compassion and connection that Zachary embodied.

“Our hearts are broken, but we are so grateful for the love and support surrounding us,” a family member said. “Zachee will forever be remembered for their gentle heart, creative soul, and the way they made every person feel loved.”
