In Loving Memory Of Veromonique Ntseful-Dubose And Taurean Dubose

Victim Identified in Apparent Murder-Suicide on the Causeway

SPANISH FORT, AL — October 20, 2025 — Authorities have identified the victim in the tragic murder-suicide incident that unfolded on the Causeway on Sunday as 41-year-old Veromonique Ntseful-Dubose of Mobile. The suspect, believed to be her husband, 36-year-old Taurean Dubose, was also found dead from what investigators say was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Spanish Fort Police responded to a call around midday Sunday reporting a stationary white Chevrolet Tahoe along the Causeway, just east of Meaher State Park. Upon arrival, officers discovered both individuals unresponsive inside the vehicle. Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene and confirmed that both occupants were deceased.

According to investigators, preliminary evidence suggests that the incident was a domestic-related murder-suicide. Authorities say that Veromonique Ntseful-Dubose suffered fatal injuries consistent with gunshot wounds prior to the apparent suicide of her husband. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

Detectives are currently working to piece together the timeline and circumstances leading up to the deaths. While no official motive has been confirmed, police believe the situation was isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Veromonique Ntseful-Dubose was a longtime resident of Mobile, described by those who knew her as compassionate, driven, and deeply devoted to her community. Friends and family have begun to express their grief on social media, sharing memories and calling for awareness surrounding domestic violence and mental health.

Taurean Dubose, also of Mobile, had no known prior criminal history according to initial reports, and authorities have not disclosed whether there were any previous domestic complaints involving the couple.

The Baldwin County Coroner’s Office is assisting in the investigation, and autopsies will be conducted to confirm the official causes of death.

Spanish Fort Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area of the Causeway on Sunday, or anyone with additional information about the couple’s relationship or the circumstances leading up to the incident, to come forward.

“If you or someone you know has any information that could aid in this investigation, please contact the Spanish Fort Police Department at 251-626-4914,” said a spokesperson for the department.

This incident marks a sobering reminder of the often-hidden struggles within relationships and the importance of intervention and support systems. Local advocacy groups are reminding the public of resources available for those experiencing domestic abuse or emotional crises.
