July 25, 2025

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Leeann Marie (LaGosh) Busse, age 50, of Greenleaf, Wisconsin. Leeann departed this world suddenly on July 25, 2025, while on a meaningful and joy-filled vacation with her beloved husband, celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. What began as a celebration of love and enduring partnership turned into an unthinkable tragedy, leaving her family, friends, and community devastated by the loss of a vibrant and compassionate soul.

A Life Filled with Love, Dedication, and Heart

Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on May 3, 1975, Leeann was the daughter of proud parents who instilled in her the values of kindness, integrity, and hard work. She grew up in a close-knit family that nurtured her spirit of generosity and her deep-rooted faith. A graduate of Wrightstown High School, Leeann went on to earn a degree in Early Childhood Education, a field that perfectly aligned with her nurturing personality and natural ability to connect with othersโ€”especially children.

Leeann married the love of her life, Mark Busse, on July 26, 2005. Their bond was a testament to love, patience, and shared dreams. Together they built a home in Greenleaf, where they raised their two children and created countless cherished memories. Mark and Leeannโ€™s relationship was a model of mutual respect and deep companionship, marked by their shared love for travel, family road trips, and quiet mornings spent sipping coffee and watching the sunrise over their backyard.

A Heart for Others

Leeann was a woman of remarkable warmth. Her kindness radiated in every interaction, whether she was volunteering at church, organizing school events, or helping neighbors in need. She had a special way of making people feel seen, heard, and appreciated. Her genuine empathy drew people to her, and her friendships were lifelong and deeply treasured.

Professionally, Leeann dedicated her life to working with children. She taught for over two decades in area preschools and early education centers, earning the love and respect of countless families whose lives she touched. Her former students often remembered her for her patience, creativity, and the gentle strength she brought into the classroom each day.

A Life Suddenly Interrupted

Leeann’s sudden passing while on a special anniversary trip with her husband has left a void that words cannot fully express. Her family shares that she spent her final days doing what she loved mostโ€”traveling, laughing, and spending meaningful time with her husband of two decades. Though her departure was heartbreakingly sudden, it came in the midst of joy and love, a reflection of the life she lived every day.

Cherished and Remembered

Leeann leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Busse; their two children, Emma and Caleb, who were the light of her life; her parents; two sisters and a brother; her in-laws; many nieces and nephews; and a wide circle of friends, colleagues, and neighbors whose lives she brightened.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents and other loved ones who now welcome her into eternal peace.

Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Life service for Leeann will be held at St. Maryโ€™s Catholic Church in Greenleaf on Saturday, August 2, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to the time of service. A luncheon will follow at the church hall. In honor of Leeannโ€™s bright spirit, the family encourages attendees to wear colors that reflect her joy and vibrance.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Leeannโ€™s name to local early childhood education programs or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of her favorite charities.

Forever in Our Hearts

Leeann Marie Busseโ€™s presence was a blessing to all who knew her. Her love, laughter, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire and guide those she leaves behind. While her life was tragically cut short, her memory will live on in the stories shared, the lives she touched, and the deep love she poured into the world each day.

“She made broken things beautiful just by loving them hard enough.”
โ€”R.M. Drake

Rest peacefully, Leeann. You will be missed more than words can say.
