With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we remember Kharis McGee, a cherished member of her family, her WSSU community, and all who knew her. Although her journey with us ended far too soon at the age of 22, her spirit continues to shine through the lives she touched.

Kharis was a dedicated student at WinstonโSalem State University, enrolled in the B.S. program for the Class of 2026. She embodied promiseโa young woman pursuing her dreams with vigor, curiosity, and an unyielding sense of integrity.
A Beloved Presence
Those who knew Kharis describe her warmth, kindness, and generosity. Always approachable, she listened deeply, offered support freely, and connected with authenticity. Her presence brought comfort and joy to many, weaving bonds of friendship and care across campus and beyond.

Kharisโs devotion to her family was unwavering. Born on September 23, 2002, in Monroe, North Carolina, she carried with her the values of love and respect won through deep familial bonds. Her passing leaves a void in their hearts that only her memory can begin to heal
Honoring Her Life
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 1:00โ2:00โฏPM at the New Living Word Discipleship Worship Center in Waxhaw, NC (7513 Broomes Old Mill Rd) ย Family, friends, and community members are invited to attend, share their memories, and offer comfort.
