Tragic Loss Stuns Pensacola Community: Local Businessman Found Deceased Inside AA Top Shop
PENSACOLA, Fla. — The Pensacola community is reeling in grief and disbelief following the tragic death of 57-year-old Dean Edward Chambers, who was found deceased Monday morning inside AA Top Shop, a local countertop and cabinetry business located on the 4000 block of Davis Highway.
According to authorities, emergency responders were dispatched to the business shortly after 8 a.m., following reports of an unresponsive individual. Upon arrival, first responders discovered Chambers inside the building. Despite attempts to render aid, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that an investigation is underway, though officials have not released the cause of death pending autopsy results. Deputies have stated that, at this stage, there are no immediate signs of foul play, but detectives are continuing to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
A Respected Business Owner and Friend
Dean Chambers was well known throughout the Pensacola business community. For years, he ran AA Top Shop, a local fixture that specialized in custom countertops and interior remodeling. Customers and neighbors described him as hardworking, friendly, and deeply committed to his craft.
“Dean was more than just a business owner—he was part of the fabric of this neighborhood,” said longtime customer Mark Jennings, who had known Chambers for over a decade. “He took pride in every project and treated everyone who walked through those doors like family.”
Others echoed similar sentiments, remembering Chambers as someone who gave back to the community, frequently volunteering his time and materials to support local causes and schools.
“He had a big heart,” said Lisa Ramirez, a nearby business owner. “If someone needed help, Dean was the first to show up. This is a huge loss for all of us.”
Community in Mourning
News of Chambers’ passing spread quickly across social media, with dozens of friends, clients, and local residents sharing tributes and condolences. Many expressed shock, saying they had seen him just days before.
On Monday afternoon, a small memorial of flowers and candles began forming outside AA Top Shop’s front entrance. Some visitors stood silently, others shared stories about the kindness and craftsmanship that made Chambers a beloved figure in the community.
“He always had a smile and a joke,” one visitor said quietly. “It’s hard to imagine this place without him.”
Investigation Continues
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office has stated that more information will be released once the medical examiner completes the autopsy. Deputies have asked anyone with information related to the incident to contact their office or Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP.
As investigators work to determine what happened, those who knew Dean Chambers are focusing on celebrating his life and legacy. Plans for a memorial service are expected to be announced in the coming days.
For now, the Pensacola community continues to mourn a man remembered not only for his craftsmanship, but for his kindness, generosity, and enduring spirit.
“Dean was one of the good ones,” said Jennings. “He built more than countertops—he built trust, friendships, and a reputation that will never be forgotten.”
