Homicide Investigation Underway After 22-Year-Old Trewan Sanders Found Fatally Shot in Texarkana Home

TEXARKANA, TEXAS — What began as a quiet early morning on a residential street in Texarkana was shattered by violence when police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1200 block of Nolthenius Street. The tragic discovery of 22-year-old Trewan Sanders, found fatally shot just inside the doorway of a home, has now prompted a full-scale homicide investigation.

Officers with the Texarkana Texas Police Department arrived on the scene shortly after 4:00 a.m. on Friday, following a 911 call reporting gunfire at the residence. Upon entering the home, police found Sanders unresponsive near the entrance, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities quickly secured the area, and crime scene investigators worked throughout the morning to collect evidence and document the scene. The neighborhood, normally quiet and residential, was disrupted by the heavy police presence and the tragic circumstances unfolding just a few doors away from sleeping families.

According to police, the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and no suspects have been arrested as of Friday evening.
