Fatal Shooting Claims Life of Clinton Woman; Former Boyfriend Named Person of Interest
CLINTON, MISS. — A tragic and unsettling act of violence has rocked the quiet community of Clinton, Mississippi, as authorities investigate a fatal shooting that occurred late Monday night, claiming the life of 45-year-old Jasmine Singleton.
According to officials, Clinton Police responded to a 911 call just before midnight on October 20, reporting gunfire at a residence on Cedar Hill Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered Singleton inside her home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services pronounced her dead at the scene.
The Clinton Police Department has since identified 42-year-old Carlton D. Mack, Singleton’s former boyfriend, as a person of interest in the case. Authorities have not confirmed whether Mack is currently in custody or on the run, but they are actively seeking his whereabouts.
