Mother Mourns Loss of 4-Year-Old Twin Boys in Hermitage House Fire

In a devastating tragedy that has left the Hermitage community in mourning, 4-year-old twin brothers Lathan and Langston McDaniel perished in a house fire early Monday morning, July 28, 2025. The fire occurred at a residence on Arbor Pointe Way in Hermitage, Tennessee, around 4:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they found the mother and one of her three children outside, while the twins remained trapped inside the home. Despite immediate rescue efforts, the boys were found unresponsive and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Lathan and Langston were born prematurely and faced numerous health challenges throughout their short lives. Family friend Lacey Corbitt described them as “micro-preemie survivors” who overcame significant obstacles, stating they were “the lights of our world.” The twins leave behind their younger sister, Lexi Rose, and a grieving mother, Jessica McDaniel, who is physically unharmed but emotionally devastated
