In Loving Memory of Kaidyn “KV” Vargas (July 16, 2011 – July 28, 2025)

Kaidyn “KV” Vargas, of Gatesville, Texas, aged 14, passed away on July 28, 2025. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, followed by interment at Restland Cemetery at 12:00 p.m.

🎓 A Life Filled with Passion and Potential

Kaidyn was a beloved student in the Gatesville Independent School District and engaged in many activities through the years—including soccer, coach-pitch baseball, basketball, and even youth football before joining the Gatesville Hornets in junior high.

As Kaidyn grew, so did a passion for music—especially playing electric guitar, ukulele, and kalimba. His favorite song was “Riptide,” which he had recently learned on the ukulele

🌊 Spiritful and Adventurous

Known for his adventurous nature and playful humor, Kaidyn was fearless—especially at the lake. He loved jumping off high rocks into water and riding tubes, holding tight to capture every moment on video. Devil’s Hole was a favorite spot, and he finally returned last year eager to vlog the leap that thrilled him most

From the very beginning, Kaidyn had an immense love for animals—trading childhood toys for pets, and caring for every creature he could. His dream was to build a life caring for animals professionally

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Cherished by Family and Friends

Kaidyn is deeply missed by his family: parents David and Cheyenne Brittain, brothers Jaymeson Vargas and Colt Brittain, grandparents David Brittain Sr., Marvin and Sheila Beechly, Roy and Geneva Vargas, and his godmother Stephanie Sheets—along with countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. He also leaves surviving great-grandparents Elizabeth Crawford, James LaFountain, Paul and Joyce Beechly, and many others.

He now joins relatives including grandmother Sandra Vargas and others who passed earlier

✨ A Bright Spirit Left Too Soon

Kaidyn’s infectious humor, quick wit, and joyful energy lit up hallways and classrooms—anywhere people were. Friendships were brighter with him around, and tests were lighter because of his jokes.

Whether teaching himself new music, building memories at the lake, or dreaming of helping animals, Kaidyn lived each day fully—and inspired everyone fortunate enough to know him.
