At 61 years old, Sgt. Gregโ€ฏGraff had devoted seven years to the Pinellas County Schools Police, overseeing safety across the districtโ€™s campuses. Prior to that, he had nearly three decades (29ย years) of service with the City of Douglasville Police Department in Georgia

On the afternoon of Julyย 30,ย 2025, Sgt. Graff collapsed unexpectedly while participating in an active assailant training exercise followed by indoor classroom instruction at Clearwater High School. He was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafterโ€”just before 4:15โ€ฏp.m. local time

He is survived by his wife, three children, and six grandchildren, who were among those deeply impacted by his sudden passing
