FOREST CITY, N.C. — The Forest City community is in shock following a violent home invasion that claimed the life of 25-year-old Tyler D. Weaver on Friday morning. Authorities report that the incident occurred at approximately 9:50 A.M. in the area of 114 Harris Lee Drive, prompting an immediate response from the Forest City Police Department.
According to law enforcement officials, officers were dispatched after a home invasion was reported. Upon entering the residence, officers discovered Weaver lying on the floor. Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel responded shortly thereafter but tragically confirmed that Weaver had succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Investigation underway
Law enforcement personnel launched an extensive search of the surrounding wooded areas and canvassed the neighborhood in an effort to locate any suspects. Authorities believe that the suspect or suspects fled the area prior to the arrival of police.
